2023. Gabbi Luck is an ex-criminology professor whose personal luck hits a snag after reuniting with a former associate and Dean of Criminology at Whitmore College. She's there as a guest lecturer, but when the Dean is found dead the very next morning, class is abruptly canceled and an investigation quickly begins..
